Got a new truck----Woo-Hoo!!

My brother-in-law, whom we are staying with, got a new truck on Friday. It took all day to do it, but we got one. It is a 2008 Chevy Colorado crew cab. He had a single cab Colorado, but since I have 3 kids, we all couldn't go somewhere together because that was the only vehicle that he has. So, he decided that he had saved up enough money and we went to Alexander Cheverolet. They were wonderful people there. Not uptight and pushy like alot of dealerships. But really nice people who will work with you to get you into a vehicle. Our salesperson's name was Dustin Davis so if you would like to go there, please ask for him. He traded in his old truck, which he was upside down in, but he still managed to get the truck. And my kids love it.

We had gone to a previous dealership on March 13 to get a truck at Mark Pirtle Cheverolet, which they changed their name since to Pritle & Howerton Automotive. The dealers there were rude and abusive. We went there when they were having a sale, and sent every flyers and if you came by you got a $2 bill. So he decided to go then. The salesperson that we had is Sam and he was very rude! First he was talking with the financial manager trying to get the deal going and came back and asked him when did he make the last payment on the truck. My BIL answered that he had made it the night before. He then cussed at us and threw the brand new truck key down on the desk, which bounced onto the floor and stormed out. I stood up and told my BIL that it was time to go that he needed to go and get the his truck key from the dealer. The dealer came back and told us that the payments (which he wanted to pay around $450-$470) would be $600! What?!? So we told him no way and he just wanted his key back. He then got into my face and told me that we were stupid to think that we were going to get a new truck in our price range. {Now I have to tell you that I am a red head and I don't take crap from anyone} So I said "Excuse me!" He then preceeded to tell me that I didn't know anything about cars and that I cannot walk into a dealership thinking that we we going to leave with a truck payment in our range. I explained that first that I was not stupid and in fact I knew more about repairing and taking care of cars more than my BIL did. That I had taught him how to work on his truck so he didn't have to take it somewhere to change his fluids or anything. We then walked out and noticed that the passenger side window of my BIL's truck, which didn't work and we told the salesperson this, was down. Whoever tested the truck, rolled the window down. I explained that they had to put the window back up the way it was before we got there. We were told by a different salesperson to take it to the service dept and explain what happened. They told us that they had to hear it from a salesperson or they would have to charge us to get the window back up. AHHHH!!! By now, my blood was boiling. I have had a salesperson jump into my face, verbally assault me, and now they damaged my BIL's property and was not going to take responsibilty of it. So we marched back up front to the sales area and asked to speak to the sales manager. A man named Larry said that he would help us. So all 3 of us went back to the service department. He looked at the window and heard what we said and said that "He wasn't going to pay for the F**** window! Why didn't you have it fixed when it broke?" My BIL explained that he didn't have the $500 to fix it. The salesperson started cussing then slammed the door which made the window fall again and then grab a paper out of my BIL's hand and wrote down his name and phone number and said to get the window fixed and to call him and he would reimbursh us. I told him that we needed the window pulled back up or fixed now because my BIL had to go to work and couldn't go with the window down. He then asked me "What the f**** do you want me to do?" So I replied "F*** fix it!!" He then said that because I said the F word that he wasn't going to help us. WHAT?!? He had been saying just about every cuss word that I know and he wants to claim that I cussed so now it's not his problem?!?
So, now, I was in tears because I was sooo upset of what was going on. I couldn't believe how I was being treated. So the service dept called the real sales manager back there after watching what was going on. The sales manager and a couple of the guys from the service dept managed to manually pull the window back up to where it was suppose to be. We thanked him dearly and explained to him what had happened. He of course, said that he 'would take care of it'. He then told us that if we bring the truck back, that we would only have to pay $100 to get the window fixed. I explained that I was NEVER going to step onto the property again.
So we got into the truck and pulled out of the service dept and around the building. Larry, Sam an the other guys from RUSH were standing out there. As we passed we saw in the side mirrors of Larry flipping us off.
So, when the survey lady from the dealership called to get our opinions of what had happened, we told her everything. She couldn't understand what had happened and said that she would let Mr. Howerton who owns the dealership now, know about the situation and then told us that we should've called up there and told Mr. Howerton after it happened.
Anyways we did the survey last week, and still have not heard anything from the owner of the dealership or anyone. Go figure!

Pretty in Pink~~Quick Pick

Here is a quick-pick that you can use.
It comes with a frame, sucker, and word art.
The layers are open so you can move things around if you would like. I created it while I was making a tag so I thought I'd share it.

~~Truth about Digital Transition~~

I found out today that even if you get cable, you will still need a converter box. I read it in an article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24073432 That if you get your cable from a wire connected to the back of your TV, then you will need a converter box from your cable company. I have Charter and I called them to ask and see if the article was true and they told me yes. And that they will send out a notice to everyone around August or Sept. For us, it will cost an extra $5 a month per TV. (+ tax of course)
